FIG Academy for Artistic Gymnastics in Tashkent
These days the FIG Academy for Artistic Gymnastics Level 2 is held in Tashkent. The event is attended by 24 coaches from 10 countries such as Algeria, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Malaysia, Poland, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Jordan and Uzbekistan. Our country is represented by Oxana Kiosya and Ravshan Mirzaev. The event was initiated by Uzbekistan Gymnastics Federation and the Republican School of Gymnastics Coaches and Judges. The Academy is led by Pedro Almeida, an international federation expert and course leader (Portugal), Jacques RENSON (MAG) (Belgium) and Zsuzsanna KALMÁR (WAG) (Hungary).
Training process consists of theoretical and practical sessions, which include Anatomy, Biomechanics, Physiology, Psychology, Anti-doping, as well as teaching some elements on apparatus. Theoretical basics are taught to participants at Uzbekistan Gymnastics Federation and practical training takes place at the Special sports school for children and youth in Tashkent. The participants of the Academy are assisted in studying and practicing the elements by candidates for the master of sports, members of the Youth Artistic Gymnastics National team. Knowledge and skills gained during the course on the abovementioned areas will be tested by the exam. Coaches who successfully pass the final qualification will be awarded certificates of the second level of the FIG Academy.
